What is the WHASOLS Marketplace?

The WHASOLS Marketplace is a place where users of the WHASOLS platform can discover, try, and buy add-ons for the WHASOLS platform. You can use add-ons to customize and extend your WHASOLS installation. The Marketplace offers add-ons developed by both WHASOLS as well as third-party developers.

How much does it cost to register and use?

Browsing, reviewing and installing listings is always free. Publishing as a developer requires an active WHASOLS Marketplace plan — every account starts on the free Startup plan automatically, so there’s no cost to get your first listing live. Paid plans raise your company/listing limits and unlock extra visibility (search placement, homepage features, deeper analytics). See Plans for details.

Can I list an add-on or extension I create?

Yes. Register a developer account, create a group for your business or brand, then submit a listing through the guided submission wizard. Every new listing and version goes through a short review before it appears publicly.

Do I need to be a WHASOLS customer to use the Marketplace?

To publish, yes — your developer account is tied to an active WHASOLS account and Marketplace plan, so we can verify who’s behind each listing. To browse listings, leave reviews, or favorite/bookmark apps as a visitor, no WHASOLS account is required.

Is the Marketplace available in languages other than English?

The Marketplace interface is in English. Listing descriptions themselves can be written in any language your audience uses — see “Which languages can I use for the description?” under Listings.

What is a group?

A group is the company or brand profile your listings are published under — it holds your public name, logo, description and website, and appears on every listing page as “Published by”. Most developers only need one group, but you can create several if you publish under more than one brand (agencies commonly do this for client-branded add-ons).

How do I create a group?

From your developer dashboard, go to Companies and click Add Company. Fill in the group name, logo and description and submit — new groups are reviewed before they can be attached to a public listing. Your plan determines how many groups you can create at once.

Can I add teammates to manage a group with me?

Not yet — each group is currently managed by the single developer account that created it. If you need shared access, keep the account credentials with whoever is responsible for publishing on your team.

Can I delete a group?

You can delete a group as long as it has no listings attached. If it has active or pending listings, move or remove those first — this keeps published listings from ever pointing at a group that no longer exists.

Can I change my username or group name?

Yes. Update your display name from Profile → Edit Profile, and rename a group from that group’s edit page under Companies. Your sign-in email can’t be changed directly since it’s tied to your WHASOLS account — contact support if it needs to change.

I’ve forgotten my password, how do I reset it?

On the developer login page, click “Forgot your password?” and enter your email. If an account exists for that address you’ll receive a reset link by email — it expires after a short window for security, so request a new one if it’s lapsed.

What are plans?

Plans control how many groups and listings you can maintain, how many screenshots each listing can have, and what visibility perks are available (search placement, homepage features, deeper analytics). Every account starts on the free Startup plan; upgrading is done through your WHASOLS Marketplace plan/license, not inside the Marketplace itself. See the full breakdown on Plans.

What payment methods are accepted at WHASOLS?

Marketplace plans are billed through your WHASOLS account, not the Marketplace directly, so accepted payment methods follow WHASOLS’s own billing system. Check your WHASOLS account’s billing section, or contact WHASOLS support for the current list of supported methods.

Can I get an invoice for deposited funds?

Invoices and billing history are issued from your WHASOLS account, since that’s where plans and licenses are purchased and paid for. The Marketplace itself doesn’t process payments or hold billing records — reach out to WHASOLS support if an invoice is missing.

What happens if my Marketplace plan lapses?

You won’t be able to sign in to the developer portal until an active plan is restored. Your published listings and groups aren’t deleted — they remain visible to visitors while your account is inactive; you just can’t make changes until the plan is renewed.

Can I close my developer account?

Contact support and we’ll help you wind down your listings and groups first, since a listing can’t be left orphaned once your account is removed.

What can I submit to the WHASOLS Marketplace?

The WHASOLS Marketplace lists apps, modules, extensions, themes and integrations for the WHASOLS platform. We do not permit listings for standalone services.

How do I submit a new listing?

From your dashboard, click Add Listing to start the submission wizard. It walks through listing info, branding & images, screenshots, version details, pros & cons, compatibility, pricing & licensing, and support — then a final review step before you submit. You can save a draft and come back to finish it later.

How can I apply formatting to my listing description?

Description fields support Markdown — headings, bold/italic text, bullet and numbered lists, links, and code blocks. The editor includes a live preview so you can check formatting before submitting.

What should I include in my listing description?

Listing descriptions should be as detailed as possible. Tell users what your add-on does and why it might be beneficial to them, describing the add-on and its integration with WHASOLS. Consider including a FAQ if your listing description is short. Remember that the easier you make it to learn about your add-on, the more likely you are to have a successful Marketplace experience.

I already have a page on my site that describes my add-on/service, can I just link to that?

No, we do not allow linking to external sources for more information. All information required for users should be provided within the listing description.

How do I set pricing?

The Pricing & Licensing step of the wizard lets you mark a listing as free or paid and describe your pricing model (one-time, subscription, per-user, etc.). Actual checkout happens on your own site via the Download/Purchase URL — the Marketplace doesn’t process payments for third-party listings.

What should I provide in the Download/Purchase URL?

For free listings, provide a direct link to download your app. For commercial listings, provide a direct link to the checkout process for the required product. We do not allow linking to additional informational pages: all of the information about your app or theme should appear in the Marketplace listing.

Can I include screenshots?

Yes, in the Screenshots step of the wizard. New listings can include a baseline number of screenshots on the free Startup plan; after approval, upgrading your plan raises that limit and can unlock more prominent placement. Screenshots should be high quality and a good resolution.

Can I embed screenshots in the description?

You cannot embed images in the description text, because search engines and screen readers for visually-impaired users will not read text inside images. If you want to include more screenshots than your plan currently allows, upgrade your plan from your dashboard to raise the limit.

Can I add links to the description?

You cannot add links to the description for app, module, or extension listings. You can add a single link to a live demo for theme listings.

Is a hero image required?

A hero image is only required for listings where a plan with featured placement is active — for example, homepage feature or hero rotation. See Plans for which tiers include featured placement.

What are the requirements for listing icons?

Each listing must include an icon in GIF, PNG, or JPEG format. For best results, icons should be 200x200 pixels. Icons must not consist primarily of copyrighted material, like another company’s logo — for example, a PayPal® integration should not use the PayPal logo, but the PayPal logo could be incorporated into the add-on’s icon design.

Which languages can I use for the description?

Most visitors to the WHASOLS Marketplace speak English, and listings in English have the best engagement levels. You can add a description in another language if you also provide an English translation beneath it.

How do clients contact us pre-sales or post-sale?

The Website URL you configure for your group and the Support URL you configure for each listing both display on the listing page. Update your group’s website from your dashboard under Companies — select your group and click Edit. Update a listing’s support contact from the Support step of that listing’s submission wizard.

Why can users not see my listing?

All listings require moderator review and approval. We attempt to review and approve all submissions within two weeks.

How will I know if my submission failed the review process?

If your submission does not pass the review process, we will send an email to the email address in your group settings, listing any necessary changes.

Can I update a listing after it’s approved?

Yes — edit the listing or add a new version any time from your dashboard. Substantial changes (like a new version) go through review again before going live; minor edits may apply immediately depending on what changed.

What’s is an add-on or extension?

Add-ons and extensions are additional code that you can install into your WHASOLS installation to enhance or change its functionality. Add-ons change the way your WHASOLS installation behaves.

Can I trust third-party add-ons?

The WHASOLS Marketplace is designed to give you visibility to see if an add-on is reliable. All listings provide the following resources to help you make informed decisions about the add-ons you install and use: reviews and ratings from other users; whether compatibility is kept up-to-date with the latest version; the Changelog tab, which shows if the developer is active and regularly providing updates; and screenshots and other information in the listing description.

How are add-ons reviewed?

We review and approve all new listings on the WHASOLS Marketplace to ensure that add-on information is as complete as possible. However, we do not monitor, review or provide any assurances about the quality of code contained within any add-ons or extensions. If you find dangerous or malicious code posted here, please report it to us.

Who provides support for add-ons and extensions?

All support for third-party add-ons and extensions must be obtained directly from the vendor. Links to the vendor’s website and support resources can be found via the Marketplace listing.

Can add-ons make my application slower?

Sometimes, yes. It’s possible for an add-on to cause performance problems. We recommend setting up a staging environment that allows you to test out add-ons before deploying them in production — check with WHASOLS support about license options for non-production testing. You can also use customer reviews to learn what other users have to say, and visit the add-on vendor’s website to review any support materials they have. If you suspect an add-on is causing a problem in your WHASOLS installation, try disabling the add-on to see if the problem goes away.

Why would I disable an add-on? How do I disable one?

When you install an add-on, it has full access to your application and its data. Sometimes add-ons can have unintended side effects — they might slow things down, or you might discover a problem. If so, it’s easy to disable or uninstall an add-on. To disable an add-on, go to your WHASOLS installation’s add-on management settings and deactivate it there. Alternatively, if it was installed another way, simply remove the files from where they were uploaded.

What happens if a developer stops maintaining their add-on?

The listing stays visible, but reviews and ratings will typically reflect any staleness or lack of support. Prefer actively maintained add-ons with recent versions and responsive developers for anything you depend on long-term.
